Walters spoke to media on Friday in the lead-up to the side’s game with the Panthers and was asked about Coates’ future along with the decision to let Tevita Pangai Jr. leave early.

The latter’s exit has seen the Storm look into the possibility of luring Coates over before the NRL’s August 2 transfer deadline, with Craig Bellamy labelling Brisbane’s treatment of the winger a “bit harsh”.
It comes after Coates once again missed selection for Saturday’s clash with Penrith.
